Company Description:

Grow Trade Consulting Inc. began operation in November 2004. The organization is a privatized entity spun out from the Canadian Trade Office of the Council of Great Lakes Governors, which has operated in Toronto, Canada since 1990. Since then the office has assisted small to medium sized companies from the states of Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia and North Carolina to identify and benefit from business opportunities in the Canadian market. Office expertise includes knowledge and contacts in most major industry sectors in Canada as well as an in-depth collection of resources that cover an extensive range of industries. Staff members of Grow Trade work one on one with clients and have also organized major events including Governor led trade missions, industry specific and horizontal trade missions. Pre-qualified business appointments, industry information, logistical assistance and policy level appointments have been provided to event participants. Our expertise is founded in working closely with each client to understand their goals to tailor our services based on those needs and the opportunities in the market. In addition to our work with our ongoing core client group; Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia Grow Trade has recently worked successfully with the Business Development Bank of Canada on specific projects in North America.


Member/Principle Biography:

Nancy Ward is the Director of Grow Trade Consulting, the official representative of the Canadian Trade Office of the Council of Great Lakes Governors. For the past 15 years she has assisted SMEs to find Canadian partners in a wide range of industry sectors, managed trade-event coordination and worked with Canadian government and private industry to build linkages in the trade field. Prior to working at the Council, Nancy held positions in the adult education field and the sales and marketing area; working with the subsidiary of a U.S. automotive parts manufacturer in Toronto. In addition she has extensive experience in customer service and retail. Nancy completed an honors degree in Political Science and a postgraduate designation in International Business. She is past president of the International Trade Club of Toronto and held the position of Vice President of Communications in the Organization of Women in International Trade – Toronto, for three years.
